This is actually a traditional rendition of Krakonos, a Czech folklore figure. Krakonos is the Father of the Woods and has mystical god-like powers. The Krkonose mountains are some of the largest in the Czech Republic and the area is filled with tales of a mysterious man who cares for the nature of the mountains.
