What makes the bath toy?

You don’t want to get this wrong … and the right choice will provide years of fun! Consider these factors before you buy bath toys online in Australia. 

Toy materials: It should go without saying that a good bath toy needs to survive immersion in water! Primarily this means a polymer (plastic) of some sort, but there are also some wooden toys that are sealed to survive water. 

Drainage: Most importantly, a good toy allows the water to drain away quickly and thoroughly. When water cannot drain away, it becomes stagnant, and bacteria will begin to grow becoming a health hazard and possibly staining the toy.

Manageable fun: It’s nice to keep the water inside the bath, so be mindful of toys that encourage crazy splashing or squirting. Good bath toys are fun, but don’t lead to a huge mess!

Durability: Toys for the bath typically experience rough play in harsh environments. You need to choose toys that are solid and can withstand detergents, abrasion, and impact (with the tiles or tub itself). The best of them can also survive a quick clean in the dishwasher! 

Educational Value: We’re not wanting to spoil the fun, but water play can be highly educational. Look for toys that provide roleplay value (like measuring cups, music, weight), or toys that encourage engaging in the sense (like water wheels and fountains).
