A carousel makes an ideal gift for anyone with a love of beauty and nostalgia for days-gone-by. Three beautiful, hand-painted horses rotate slowly to the twinkling sounds of a mechanical music box. Imagine the delight on your family or friend's face when they open the box to discover such a beautiful gift. These carousels are rare and make wonderful presents.

Designed primarily as ornaments, children above 6 years and adults can wind the mechanism by rotating the top. Once you let it go, the carousel rotates for perhaps 1 minute playing a lovely tune on the mechanical music box hidden inside. Because, no batteries are needed, this mechanism will provides years of use and enjoyment.

The concept of carousels has origins in medieval Arabia, but the large, ridable horses became mechanised and wide spread in the 19th century in Europe and the US. They are now iconic, and their symbology is still found in modern movies and literature.
